How to Connect to Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™

How to Connect to Apple CarPlay®

You must have an iPhone 5 or later version, and be driving in an area that supports CarPlay, like Sparta Twp. Then, using your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search, and turn Siri on. Next, follow the steps below to connect your smartphone to your Honda:

1. Plug your phone into the CarPlay USB port. It should have a CarPlay logo.
2. If your vehicle has a wireless Bluetooth® connection, go to Settings > General > CarPlay > Available Cars and select your vehicle.
3. Start your car up and leave it running.
4. Talk to Siri and ask for what you need by pressing and holding the Voice Control button on your steering wheel. You can also touch and hold the CarPlay Home button on your touchscreen until Siri appears.

How to Connect to Android Auto™

Your phone must have Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or a more recent version. Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) works best. This is how to connect Android Auto™:

1. Go to your car’s setting and turn on Android Auto.
2. Download the Android Auto™ app from Google Play. Plug your smartphone into your vehicle using the compatible USB cable and when you receive a prompt to download the app, click on it.
3. Unlock your phone’s screen.
4. Read the Safety data and Android Auto™ permissions.
5. Turn on your notifications for Android Auto™.
6. On your car’s display, select Android Auto™.
